Photograph of Ned Kelly, 1873

A photographic print of bushranger Ned Kelly. He is wearing a dark coat, checked shirt and light coloured trousers. The text 'Ned Kelly' has been handwritten on the reverse of the photograph.

On 28 June 1880, Victorian police captured Kelly after a siege at the Glenrowan Inn. Other members of the Kelly Gang—Dan Kelly, Joseph Byrne and Steve Hart—were killed in the siege. Ned was tried and executed in Melbourne in November 1880.
