Harold Litchfield, Dr CC Maidment, Charles Ulm, Charles Kingsford Smith and Tom McWilliams

In 1928 Australian pilots Charles Kingsford Smith and Charles Ulm, along with two US crewmen, became the first people to cross the Pacific Ocean by air in their three-engine Fokker aircraft, the Southern Cross. This photograph was probably taken earlier than the 1928 journey.
