The Marco Polo was an emigrant ship built in New Brunswick, Canada in 1852. It was the largest of its kind sailing the Liverpool to Australia passage. Marco Polo’s maiden voyage from Liverpool to Melbourne, was made in record time of 68 days, and she became known as ‘the fastest ship in the world’.
