Pre-federation Australian flag from the Klondike goldfields, Canada

This flag was acquired from the direct descendants of Charles (Charlie) Thomas Lloyd (1858-1940), an Australian who went to the Klondike in northwestern Canada in search of gold in 1898. Lloyd and a group of six Australians commissioned the flag for their boat, the ‘Kangaroo’, which took them from Lake Bennett to Dawson City and the goldfields.
