Senator Susan Ryan

Susan Ryan, a former teacher and academic, was Senator for the Australian Capital Territory from 1975 to 1988. She introduced the Sex Discrimination Bill into the Senate, which eventually passed and became the Sex Discrimination Act 1984. The Act made it illegal to discriminate against women in the workplace.
