Vietnamese refugees arriving in Darwin Harbour

Vietnamese refugees, who were fleeing war in Vietnam, began arriving in Australia from 1975. Some – like the people in this photo—arrived by boat. But most arrived in Australia by plane after selection by Australian officials in refugee camps established throughout South-East Asia.
