05:16

This video gives insight into understanding the significance of ochre. Australia is a remarkable Country; our landscapes are different in many ways. The mountains change in just a short car trip, and as they change in height and length, as far as the eyes can see, so do to the trees and the flowers. But did you know that our soils change in colour to?

For First Nations people this knowledge is a way of life and some of the beautiful tones of earth known as soil for the wider community are known and called Ochre for First Nations people. Ochre is used still to this day by the original custodians of this land.

Watch the Ochre video and learn about the importance of ochre!
