Artist Tracy Yates of the Karimarra skin group was born in Warakurna and spent her childhood there. As one of the younger artists in the community, Yates is keen to create works of Warakurna.

Strong family and kinship structures can be found within the Warakurna community. In this painting, Yates has depicted her community from the sky looking down – this perspective can be seen in numerous Aboriginal paintings.
