Basket woven from flax and bull kelp, made by Muriel Maynard

Muriel Maynard collected the flax locally around Launceston and the kelp was collected from St Helen's on the North East Coast of Tasmania. This piece was an experiment by Maynard and represents the creative merging of two traditional baskets; kelp carriers and woven baskets.
