Dried trepang collected from Barrang Lompo, Makassar

A dried trepang or sea cucumber, also known as a beche-de-mer. The specimen is roughly cylindrical and has been split down the middle. The insides have been removed. The specimen is mottled grey, black, brown and white. Collected from Barrang Lompo, Makassar, in 1969 by Professor Campbell Macknight.
