First scheduled Qantas service arrives at Longreach on 2 November 1922

In 1920 W. Hudson Fysh, Paul McGinness and Fergus McMaster established the Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Ltd (Qantas) with two open-cabin biplanes. Qantas’s first passenger, Alexander Kennedy, is centre, while its founders—McGinness, McMaster and Fysh—are to his left.
