Hume Dam, 1954

The Hume Dam forms the Hume Reservoir (also known as Lake Hume), which is the main water supply on the Murray River system. When it opened on 21 November 1936 it was the largest dam in the Southern Hemisphere and a great feat of Australian engineering.
