Photograph taken by Max Dupain in 1951. Dr Herbert Vere ‘Doc’ Evatt was an Australian Labor Party politician. He served as Minister for External Affiars between 1941 and 1949. He also served as the President of the United Nations General Assembly from 1948 to 1949.
