John Robertson, about 1860

John Robertson was premier of New South Wales on five occasions, between the 1860s and 1880s. He is best remembered for land reform. In 1861 he introduced two Acts in the NSW Parliament that became known as the ‘Robertson Land Acts’. The Acts created a code for selling and leasing Crown land.
