Qantas’s second office, Longreach, 1921
In 1920 W. Hudson Fysh, Paul McGinness and Fergus McMaster established the Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Ltd (Qantas) with two open-cabin biplanes. Although originally based in Winton, operations were moved to Longreach in 1921 due to the town’s more suitable location in the proposed Qantas network.
