Squatter John Bingle’s scrapbook, 1879

John Bingle (1792-1882) arrived in Port Jackson as a free settler on 16 December 1821. He soon acquired 1800 acres of land at Dartbrook. Later in life he created an illustrated memoir of his life as a squatter, called Reminiscences of by-gone days. Squatting. This is page two of that memoir.
