Tunnel workers from six different nations at work on the Snowy Mountains Hydro Scheme

Tunnel workers representing a dozen different nations, but all working for Australia, pose before going on shift in the Tooma-Tumut tunnel (a part of the Snowy Mountains Hydro Scheme). On the right is Italian born Romolo Fubelli, 27, who was a representative of the Australian Workers Union. He was a pump attendant in the tunnel.
