2.3 Talkin’ Guugu Yimidhirr
Talkin’ Guugu Yimidhirr is a game to help you learn some words in Guugu Yimidhirr, an Aboriginal language from Far North Queensland.
During the 48 days that the Endeavour crew spent at Waalumbaal Birri (Endeavour River), Joseph Banks and Sydney Parkinson wrote a list of Guugu Yimidhirr words. You’ll discover some of them in this game. You already know one — kangaroo (gangurrru)! Get ready to learn some more.
1. Play the game and then list at least one example of something you enjoyed learning about animals, objects and people.
