As part of this learning module you have investigated significant social welfare legislation passed by the new Commonwealth Parliament between 1901 and 1914.
1. From the four Defining Moments and case study you have looked at, what have you discovered about that legislation, and the nature of the Australia it had helped shape?
2. What overall picture of an emerging Australian nation do these four Defining Moments and case study provide? Explain your answer.
3. Do some further research on major social legislation made by the federal parliament between 1901 and 1914 to test the ideas you have gained from this investigation. Does this research reinforce and/or change the views you have developed from these defining moment examples?
