Originating with the 1938 Day of Mourning protest on 26 January, what is now known as National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) Week has evolved into a week-long, First Nations led celebration of First Nations voices, cultures, achievements and resilience.

Each year NAIDOC Week is given a theme chosen by an independent, voluntary committee. This year’s theme is The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy.

In celebration of NAIDOC Week, First Nations Museum staff have curated this page, selecting content to share that resonates with them and this year’s theme.
