1. Look at this map showing 10 of the places within Europe and the Mediterranean where fighting took place. Australians fought in some of these places. Use an atlas or Google Maps to match the places to the numbers on the map.

There were other places in Europe and the Mediterranean where fighting took place. These included: Ireland, Finland, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Sicily, Syria and Libya (includes Benghazi, Bardia, Tobruk).
2. Look at this map showing 10 of the places within Asia and the Pacific where fighting took place. Australians also fought in some of these places. Use an atlas or Google Maps to match 10 of these places to the numbers on the map.

There were other places in Asia and the Pacific where fighting took place. These included: Ceylon, India, French Indo-China, Netherlands East Indies [Indonesia] (includes Java, Timor, Ambon), Coral Sea, New Britain, British Solomon Islands, Dutch New Guinea (includes Hollandia) and Midway.
