Two First World War servicemen from Coranderrk

Henry Albert ‘Banjo’ Patterson and George Alexander, two First World War Aboriginal servicemen from the Coranderrk Aboriginal Reserve, Healesville, Victoria. Both enlisted in the 14th Battalion 16th Reinforcements at Royal Park in Melbourne. This photograph would have been taken in the latter part of January 1916, when they were sent for further training with ‘B’ Company, 22nd Depot Battalion at Broadmeadows.
